On October 23rd Apex Fencing Academy begins a new era with the opening of classes and programs in their new Apex location. After seven years holding all of our classes, practices and tournaments at the Middle Creek Community Center we have finally found a salle we can call home. Located at 405 E. Williams Street (Hwy 55) near US 1 in Apex, our fencing hall has 3,700 sq. ft., air conditioning, cushioned athletic floor, and 10 strips (6 competition, 4 of them grounded). We haven’t forgotten the parents either. There’s a parent’s lounge with seating, a work bar, ample power plugs and USB chargers. Within walking distance are several eating (and drinking) establishments!
We’ll continue to offer introductory classes (and summer camps too) through the Town of Cary at Middle Creek Community Center, with additional introductory classes at our new location. Our recreational and competitive programs along with open bouting will be exclusively at the new location.
The last few months have been a whirlwind of up and down emotions, but one thing that has remained constant, is the support of our members. We are forever grateful for all the work that our fencers and their parents put into preparing the new location. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful support from so many members and families. It was overwhelming to see how many of you came to help even on the hottest summer days, on the weekend or whenever we needed help. This process was the most amazing team effort which we could have ever imagined. Thanks to the Transition Team and all volunteers we have been able to build one of the finest fencing facilities in North Carolina. There are not enough word to express how much we appreciate all that you have done! Our long term dream has now become reality, we finally have a place we can call our home!
