On November 4th, Apex Fencing Academy held an inaugural tournament at their new Apex location. 34 fencers participated in Y10 mixed foil, Y12 mixed foil and senior mixed foil.

Out of six competitors in Y10 mixed foil, Victoria Fencing Program of Charlotte had a fantastic podium showing. Three of their fencers earned medals: Ilia finished 1st, Aiyana 2nd and Daniel 3rd. Matthew was the top Apex fencer sharing 3rd place with Daniel.

Y12 included 12 fencers. Alex had a great run in the pools allowing only 3 touches. He maintained momentum throughout the DE rounds to finish in 1st place. Derek finished in 2nd, and Sean and Tusker 3rd.

Mixed foil brought together 16 competitors. Daniel and Abel fenced off in the finals with Daniel winning it all. Abel’s dad, Doug, lost to Abel in the semi-finals settling for 3rd along with Sam.
